If you’ve been in a city lately, you’ve probably noticed the rise of food trucks. The fad definitely has its perks: food options can be available in areas that previously had limited options, bars can easily provide rotating food options just by allowing trucks parked in their parking lots, and there is a joy that is hard to rival when you see all of the different cuisine options as you walk into a food truck festival. Food trucks offer fast food, catering to busy lifestyles, but they also offer unique options that make a meal more exciting. Food trucks exist for almost every kind of food, from pierogies to ice cream sandwiches. Though food trucks have been around since the 1800s, the current boom can be primarily be attributed to the recession. As an inexpensive alternative to opening a restaurant, food trucks allowed chefs to take risks with experimental and funky cuisine while not having to worry as much about the investment. Their popularity has been maintained by the fact that food trucks offer an incredibly social experience. They are located in cities, making it easy for employees and customers to interact, and they rely on social media to share locations and menu items with the public. This all adds to the unique experience.

The Maine Lobster Lady is one of the hottest food trucks in Arizona. She has served fresh Maine lobster to patrons in Phoenix since 2012. Her signature items include lobster bisque, lobster rolls, lobster salad, and lobster mac 'n cheese. This food truck brings a crowd, but that’s because it is worth it. This truck is a way to get a taste of the East Coast without having to go there. The only problem is that she takes a summer hiatus. Fortunately, she is worthy of the wait because the food is that good. You can find her at such events as the Great American Foodie Fest in November every year. In Kansas City, Barbecue is extremely important, but that means it’s also really tough competition. So, don’t take it lightly when I saw that Mad Man’s KC Barbecue stands out as the best food truck in Kansas. Mad Man’s KC Barbecue started as a food truck and now has a brick and mortar restaurant. This place has honestly mastered flavor. The sweet style barbecue sauce is delicious, the beans are the perfect balance of sweet and smokey, and the creamy coleslaw is delicious. The best thing about Mad Man’s, though, is the variety on their menu, which is kind of rare for a food truck. You can order a pulled pork or brisket sandwich, or ribs, or maybe you’re feeling a chili dog, or you could even go with street tacos if you wanted to. Mad Man’s is sure to satisfy anyone.
Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese’s food truck has a pretty basic menu, but you can’t go wrong with grilled cheese. Let me tell you, Roxy’s does grilled cheese at a whole new level. The sandwiches come with a few different topping options. My personal favorite is the Mighty Rib, because the braised short rib is absolutely delicious. The side choices are either hand cut truffle fries or roasted tomato soup and honestly you can’t go wrong with either. Actually, I would recommend ordering both. Roxy’s also serves housemade lemonade in rotating flavors, which is always tasty and refreshing. If the Roxy’s food truck only sparks your craving and you find yourself needing more, which you will, the brick and mortar location in Allston has a more extensive menu and is definitely worth checking out.

Ray Ray’s Hog Pit is easily some of the best barbeque in Ohio, so it definitely classifies as the best food truck in Ohio by having the most delicious food. The only thing you need to keep in mind is when parked at their regular location, the food truck can be kind of hard to find as it is in the back of the lot. You definitely shouldn’t let this deter you though. The meat itself is delicious and smoked to perfection. The house barbeque sauce is sweet and delicious, but they also sometimes have other sauces to try if sweet isn’t your style. As far as sides go, I would recommend the cheesy potatoes because they are perfect. What more could you need?

Big thanks to the staff here, they are very helpful and friendly. They offer some basic sandwiches such as cheese sandwich as well as semi-unique options. The prices are reasonable and portions are huge - as it should be in a good food truck. Drinks and fries are also delicious and I can definitely recommend their Hannah banana dessert which was the best part. I also got sweet potato fries and a sandwich and enjoyed them as well. And don't miss out their fried cheese curbs! They are super delicious! I can't stop chasing this track around and will order something one more time.
