Located at 61 Grove Street, New York, NY, Hakata Tonton is reviewed by many as great food at a great cost with a Japanese staff that's regarded as knowing their stuff. Hakata Tonton is firmly buried by many reviews in the four-star range, yet there are some reviewers that have had bad experiences as well.

Minca is a Japanese restaurant located in the East Village area of New York City. People say it’s a hole in the wall restaurant which is kind of off the beaten path where the cleanliness isn’t a priority. It seems like people consider it a quaint little restaurant that not a lot of people can be in at once.
Most say the food is a very good, the ramen seems to be a major favorite here and some people have called it their go-to ramen restaurant. The noodles also seem to be a very popular option and the soup gets a lot of mentions as being very good. The Miso Ramen seems to be one of the absolute favorites as well as the Pork broth.
The downside to Minca seems to be the extreme wait times. Many diners mentioned that it’s over an hour wait at many times of the week and the servers aren’t exactly the most speedy when they do finally get in and get seated. Some people went as far as to say they wouldn’t be back because it wasn’t worth the wait.

Yakitori Totto is a place that you will not be sad at trying. The location is in a nice location and is not hard to find. The food is prepared by an in house chef and has a nice authentic Japanese quality to it.

There is a nice authentic atmosphere that is hard to match. The energy throughout the staff was really nice! The menu was put together really nice and my wife knew right away that she wanted to try the Tako Wasa. I had the Aburi Shime Saba and was surprised how much I enjoyed the dish. We had Fried Wontons on the side and they were cooked perfectly.

The atmosphere was nice and casual. It was not too loud and I felt at home eating here with my wife. We had no trouble having a low conversation and we had a nice date.

The waiters were very competent at their job and earned every bit of their tip. Their service was very high quality and they left both me and my wife with a smile on our faces from their high energy attitude.

I was visiting New York from Hawaii and someone mentioned that we need to go to Sushi of Gari. Now being that I am an island girl sushi never is as good as it it back at home. However the food here is amazing. I had the Sashimi dinner and the Tempura Shrimp . The shrimp were a nice size and tasted really good, I could have gotten that as a meal on its own. The fish was fresh, the portion size was normal, and the assortment provided a great variety. As for the atmosphere it was casual and fun The place was packed when I went, but that is ok, I understand that when places serve good food, people will come. We waited about five minutes to grab a seat. The service was wonderful as well and the servers were very friendly, Each time they came around to refill our drinks they made sure that everything was fine and asked if the food tasted good. This place is definitely a favorite of mine now, can't wait to go back!

This Japanese restaurant in Houston is delicious and a little confusing. While it is branded as Japanese, they have a lot of Korean elements. For example, you can cook your own meat which is very Korean (and very fun). The 3 meat lunch set comes with a side of Kimchi- also Korean. Maybe this restaurant should be branded as Japanese-Korean Fusion. There are Japanese elements at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, though like edamame and sushi. If you do choose to BBQ, there are some fun meat options for you. You can choose the classic Korean Kalbi Short Ribs, or go with something crazy like beef tongue. There are options outside of red meat, like shrimp and veggies which can also be tossed on the BBQ. Prices are reasonable at about $5-7 per portion of the most popular red meat options. This is a great place to go if you want to turn your dinner into a playful event.

"Getting into Totoraku is not an easy task. Invitations for reservations are made by the chef in charge. So, if you are lucky to get in and explore this Japanese cuisines joint in LA, do not forget to try the grilled beef tongue. The perfect kind of beef cuts are served here alongside vegetables that make you wonder where they were picked from. You have the opportunity to grill your own meat to the texture you prefer using the mini charcoal grill that comes on each table.
The chef in charge is quite the character and there’s never a dull or sad moment around him. The highlights of this place aside from the beef tongue would be the lamb chops, foie grass, beef tartare and assorted vegetables.
Eating at Totoraku would cost you about $180 or more, but the dining experience, from the exclusivity to the tasty meat dishes, makes it worth it. "

The “Shunjiomakase” is a 13-course meal consisting of—oysters, mushroom, abalone soup, Japanese flounder, toro belly and some other Japanese side dishes. The cost of a meal here is quite high but the taste of omakaseShunji makes is worth the cash. From the exterior which look quite old and rustic, one would never expect this spot to hold such unique flavors within its walls. The frame of this place is circular and the ceiling holds low hanging lights. The ambience is casual and you would find regular people strumming in for their daily dose of healthy omakase and sake
Chef ShunjiNakao is skilled and has the perfect way of making a wasabi. There is a private lot for parking and credit cards are accepted over here. The restroom is located outside and you would need a key to access it. Overall, Shunji makes good meals served by friendly waiters."

"Regular meals here cost about $30-$150. They are open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner and on weekends, they stay open for just dinner.
The seafood used in making the meals are always fresh and not frozen and when you sit at the sushi bar you get the opportunity to watch the sushi chef cook up the magic. The most popular meal on the menu is the $100 omakase which has—halibut and salmon sashimi, negitoro, black caviar, scallop, noodles, and other mini dishes.
For desert, their green tea crème brûlée is a popular favorite. They also have lots of wine and sake options that would go with any dish. The chefs on ground are skilled and would not mind to explain the meal or clear any doubts you may have."

"Restaurant Komasa is located at Little Tokyo in LA and serves some of the best tasting sushi and Japanese cuisines. If you happen to be in the area and need a spot to enjoy quality sushi, sashimi and other side Japanese cuisines, then Restaurant Komasa is the ideal place for you.
The most enjoyable meal on their menu is sushi made from fresh fish and ingredients. This is not a big place like Providence or other top Japanese spots in LA. The space is quite small and can only accommodate few people a time. It is best you make reservations if you want to savor any tasty meal over here. The sushi bar gets packed easily by people eating bentonite box or some chicken teriyakI. Due to the size of crowd, the chef is always busy and may not have time to respond to any personal questions. However, you can still savor your sweet shrimp, uni, halibut, salmon and noodles comfortably. "

Authentic Asian cuisines like the katsudon are available here at Donburi. This is probably one of the reasons the people at Adams Morgan rush to this spot when they are craving something Japanese cuisine. The space in Donburi is very limited and it might take a while before you finally get served. There’s a counter area where you sit and eat and enjoy the experience of sitting close to the chef. Donburi doesn’t have an extensive menu and takes pride in making quality small dishes like the salmon and wasabi rice bowl called the “sakedon”. Their rice bowls are usually sauced with either the curry sauce which is thick and spicy or the mild Donburi sauce.
Once you walk into Donburi, the first thing to do is go over the menu then place your order before looking for where to seat. The seats are limited so no one cares about having “the best spot”. You would be lucky to have a spot to sit. For those who can’t wait, there are takeout options available.

Back to the food, Perry’s do a good job in serving Asian cuisines and it is well known for its drag brunch and tasty sushi rolls. The sushi portions aren’t that big for the price they go for, but the taste is worth it. The tuna tartare is the best to try once you are seated. The ambience is casual and you don’t have to be in your Sunday’s best to dine here. You could meet some interesting people if you arrive at the right time. They offer a discount on all sakes, wines and cocktail at the happy hour which begins at 5:30pm- 7pm daily. Seating on the rooftop has its benefits and also loopholes. One of which is that you can’t get the happy hour discount if you seat there.

The earliest historical recordings of the Japanese Bento Box go all the way back to the fifth century. These well balanced lunch boxes were intended to feed hunters on their grueling day in the Japanese forest. We have come a long way from that time, and now it’s those of us with disposable income that are able to treat ourselves to this exoctic meal from Japan. If you haven’t already tried Japanese teriyaki, then you must try Musashi’s Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, or go a little wild and get the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box. You’ll be delighted when the neatly separated tray shows up at your table. Of course, if you are in the mood for a variety of Japanese food the menu offers sushi, ramen and dessert treats, as well. Musashi’s Japanese Restaurant is about the closest you will come to “authentic” Japanese food in Charlotte, so make sure you savor every last bite.

I suppose if you’re a hipster and really love ramen, then you wouldn’t mind spending around $14 per bowl of noodles. As Americans, you are most likely familiar with the cups of ramen you buy in the gas station. Now imagine that, with some gourmet additions on top in a fancy dish and now you have Futo Buta in Raleigh. When you order a bowl of ramen here, expect to possibly find pork belly, organic mushrooms, seaweed or an onsen egg floating around your broth. I can guarantee you’ve never had ingredients like this before. For foodies, it’s an experience to be had. It’s fun to say that you’ve eaten outside the box and sampled some Japanese delicacies that us Americans aren’t used to. You will leave relatively full and with tons of great snaps to upload on Instagram. If the ramen doesn’t impress you, try something less pretentious with their creative soft serve delights!
