Taïm is a nice shop among many eateries in Nolita that in particular offer something that the others don't- a speciality in falafel based sandwiches and they do it consistently well under Chef Einat's direction. Service is tops and replete with courtesy. The taste of every sandwich I've had have been nothing but exceptional, which makes it an easy decision to return time and time again

While I've had my fair share of soup dumplings this "XL XLB" includes a giant meatball of shrimp, crab, scallops, and pork swimming in a flavorful chicken, veggie, pork broth! It's delicious and not fatty. Therefore you're not getting that fatty oily taste lingering in your mouth. Nor do you get weighed down by a full meal. The XL XLB also was meant to be shared even though one can arguable eat one by itself, but what's the point? I also had their Crab Meat Soup Dumplings as well as pork XLB. They're even more amazing. As a test of our endurance, we also ventured to try the jiaozi/potstickers and baozi. Those are good as well. Excellent service and warm decor round out our warm expectations of this unique dumpling shop in east village.

This new ice cream store is the best thing to happen to the city in a long time. They opened in early December to a lot of hype and they came through, slinging premium Japan-sourced matcha, ube (yam), and black sesame. Pretty much every flavor I want under one roof. Brilliant service in a convenient space. There's limited seating however most people do not stay long enough to play a factor in a decision to buy ice cream.  Their ube is simply the best, most consistent soft serve anywhere. We know this because we've seen the guy in the back working furiously to slice, dice and pummel ube yams into the smooth consistency you'd find in ice cream.

While they've got more than just coffee, they're best known for their cakes for the most part and only recently their cookies. About everything is photogenic except for their drinks. What makes this store interesting is their split focus. Half the store is geared toward beauty supplies, It's an unlikely combination but gives it character. Service is friendly albeit slightly awkward since the staff is mostly Korean, but that should not deter you from visiting for the amazing cakes.

Obica is known as the Italian destination for all things mozzarella.  They can be ordered a la carte or as a series in what's called The Mozzarella Experience, a trio of smoky cheesy goodness.  They host a thorough list of appetizers, first and second courses as well beyond mozzarella. Agnello - Lamb Chops in Hazelnut Crust, Spinach Strudel, Yogurt Blueberry Sauce, was amazingly flavorful and presented spectacularly.  Service is a cut above the rest, as is the ambiance, a dark, sleek space in the heart of Flatiron District.
