They couple of years ago, Juliana's entered the pizza scene in Brooklyn. The aren't newcomers to this, the owners of Juliana's have actually been around for many many years to actually founded Grimaldi's which is one of the most famous pizza places in Brooklyn. They came back to serve the original style of pizza that they were serving at Grimaldi's when they first started. They named their pizza place, Julianas after the owner, Patsy's mom. What's funny is that Giuliana's is right next to their former Pizza restaurant Grimaldi's. If you pass by old see you always see too long lines forming outside each restaurant. Some people who lineup don't know the story behind the two restaurants which is pretty funny, and would be lining up at the wrong restaurant. One of my favorite pizzas at Giuliana's is the number one. This consist of mozzarella, scamorza affumicata (cheese) pancetta (Italian bacon), scallions and truffle oil. It's quite a pretty sight to look at. They do have a next margarita pizza which has the classic three ingredients tomatoes, mozzarella, And basil. If you want a taste of the original pizza from Brooklyn, I recommend that you skip Grimaldi's and make your way just a few feet to Julianas.
Juliana's Pizza is the Real Grimaldi's
Finally able to visit the pizzeria that Patsy Grimaldi built a little over a year later, no disappointments here! If you had to pick between going here and the "Grimaldi's" next door, do yourself a favor, pay some respect and come see Patsy here at least once for christ's sake!
The restaurant, named after his late mother, is a testament to good taste and decor while other owners in the area milk the tourists for all they're worth. This is not the case at Juliana's. You get top notch service with your top notch Brooklyn's best pizza. Patsy frequently walks the floor of the restaurants and greets everyone. Gotta love that!
We ordered the large Margherita pizza with a couple toppings, half pepperoni, and half ricotta and they were happy to oblige our request. Once the piping hot pizza arrived, it was difficult to finish for three people, so be sure to bring your appetite or order the smaller version. (it's not that much smaller) Thin crust pizza done right.... the smoky coal-oven flavor permeates the flavor of the bread, with a light airy crust. Please follow NY pizza-eating etiquette. Use fork and knife ONLY if it's too hot to touch, and pick it up and fold it like the New Yorker pizza-eating champ that you are.
Giving up to eat here cause always making a long line but finally I made it! There was a line as usual but it didn't take a long time to get in as I expected.
We only ordered one pizza but it was totally enough. When I ate, I understand why there is always a long line.
Family Friendly Atmosphere with Great Pizza
What a fun place this was! We were greeted by Patsy Gramaldi himself as we came in and he took the time to get to know us. I was really impressed that an owner would take that much time for each of his customers. As for the food, it was definitely good. We ordered a couple margherita pizzas and they were excellent. We also tried some of the pastas on the menu and they were well done as well. As other reviews have said, I would recommend going a little early to avoid a wait.
We love Juliana's! Great tasting pizza, good classic NY style. Even with the customization options, you cannot ruin these pizzas. The dough is really good flavored, the sauce tastes really fresh, and you can tell is is just really well done.
We went in for the pizza, but the owner saw our little boy was getting fussy and went and brought him a huge plate of spaghetti on the house. It was amazing and so nice of them. We have nothing bad to say about this place!
I fell in love with JulianasPizza. When in Brooklyn :) Patsy and Carol sold Grimaldi's in 1998 and made a return to the restaurant scene for their love of serving up a great pizza. Juliana's is named after Pat's mother. I wish I could have stayed to eat (and see Pat in action), but the line was too long. I LOVED the thin crust that isn't too charred and the fresh ingredients.

Some delicious #NYC pizza was at the top of the To Eat list. Lunch at julianaspizza in Brooklyn was a great way to check that one off the list. A walk across the Brooklyn Bridge afterwards helped burn some of the calories We visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the amazing Chinese Fashion Exhibit. Step count for the day 30,000 steps #NYC
My advice is to either come here at an odd time like 9pm on Sunday night or just take the pizza to go and eat at the nearby Brooklyn Bridge Pier park. There's typically a line here and if you're okay with waiting in line then queue up for Juliana's rather than Grimaldi's. It's essentially the same pizza but the line is likely shorter at Juliana's.
The pizza here is really really good fresh. I'm talking amazingly delicious. The crust is just perfectly crispy on the outside, but chewy and doughy on the inside. The toppings are fresh - mozz cheese, basil and tomatoes. I really like their sausage and homemade meatballs. You can't go wrong with either of those meat options.
The portions here are quite generous. I'd advise splitting a small pizza between two people. A large should be able to feed three people easily. Maybe even four people. The owner - Patsy Grimaldi - typically man's the door and he's super friendly if you get a chance to talk to him.
This place is an iconic pizzeria in NYC - it's actually in place of the original Grimaldi's location. You can read about all the pizza related owner drama on the wall right in front of the restaurant. If you're remotely interested in pizza then you must visit this place.
I visited Juliana's with a few pals because we were looking for a place that serves great Pizza. We ordered a large Mushroom and Pepperoni pizza and it was enough to feed 3 of us. Very large. It also tasted great. NYC definitely knows how to cook great pizza. Service and Decor were also above average. 4 stars!

Juliana's - Great Pizza Fair Price
When me and my family come to Brooklyn, we have consistently stopped by Juliana's the past few years. We were referred there by many people after visiting a few other pizza places in NYC, and this is by far the best place out of all of them. I am a pizza enthusiast and I just love the New York style. I try different pizza joints everywhere I travel, and Juliana's is definitely far up there on my list! The pizza was exquisite and the prices are very affordable.
Huge pizza from the coal fired oven, which is not allowed to build in NY any more. So this is one of the few places which could still serve this kind of pizza. Unfortunately there is always long line, and you would have to wait even after seated. I strongly recommend to get there before noon for lunch.
