If I have someone visiting, or am feeling wistful, I will go to Duke's. It's right on the beach and the view is killer. There is a bar there and it's always packed. You can walk right from your dinner onto the sand. Menu selection is a little limited. The breakfast buffet is just okay. Still worth it.
Incredible food and incredible views, what mo Ire coud you want
With a seat facing the beach at Waikiki, viewing Diamond Head, I was surprised at the quality of the food. One could serve cold oatmeal, and still enjoy it. No cold oatmeal to be found. Instead, a breakfast buffet surpassed by no other. Banana-Macadamia Nut Pancakes, made-to-order omelettes, and 'Hawaiian-specific' Portuguese sausage all contributed to a difficulty in moving upon competion. Add mimosas and Bloody Marys made in a fully stocked bar, and this is the meaning of paradise.
This place has a beautiful view of Waikiki as it is right on the beach. Their mixed tropical drinks are delicious, my favorite being the Lava Flow. Be prepared to fork over some dough though, because this is a tourist destination and you will most likely be dining with all tourists. But hey thats okay, you are on vacation! You can't go wrong by ordering any fish dish, it is all cooked well and very fresh. The wait can be long sometimes so be patient.
