I'm not really a fan of sweet things, I'm more of a savory kinda guy. The only sweet thing I love are donuts, especially donuts from Dough. I remember tasting dill for the first time, this was that's more you Seberg in Williamsburg for couple of years ago. They didn't have a brick-and-mortar location as they do now in Manhattan, they only had the one in Brooklyn. I fell in love with how fluffy and doughy they are. My favorite flavor that Joe offers is the tres leches donuts. I love how it's finished off with sliced almonds, it really adds texture with every bite your take. When you go to their locations in Manhattan, you can see all the donuts being made fresh do the windows looking into the kitchen. You can see Rose upon rows of freshly baked donuts that stare at you waiting for you to buy them. Their donuts are small and dainty, they're actually quite filling. If you haven't had the donuts from Dell, you're missing out. Get to the location ASAP or you can find their donuts at locations.

When I heard that Dough was opening an outpost near the Flatiron, I could not resist to go and try some of their original flavors. Yes, I tried Dough earlier this year, when one of my colleagues brought some donuts for breakfast (see my review of Dough here). This place opened last Friday, October 17th, and, with all the buzz they got, I was not surprised to see a line of excited foodies, waiting to get their sugary fix.
They have good donuts, handmade, but most importantly original. For instance, they have flavors like hibiscus, café au lait and Nutella, that I just tried!
I definitely could not resist, as I love Nutella. This donut was smaller than the others, and the cream, made with Nutella was in the center of it, like a little well of deliciousness.
We also ordered the toasted coconut as it is Jodi's favorite flavor, as well as the glazed donut.
The donuts at Dough are delicious: soft and airy, they are also big. I definitely understand the success they have, but have to admit that I love when the donut has cream in it, like The Doughnut Plant makes them. Imagine their café au lait with some thick cream inside: that would be even more sublime!

Nab some donuts from Dough on your way out. But if you see the famous hibiscus flavored ones, get as many as you can. They sell out quick.
We tried lemon poppy and chocolate this time. Both were amazing, doughy, big, soft, and flavorful even if not fresh out of the oven/fryer. But I was bummed that the hibiscus was all gone by time we finished our ramen and burger. Ahh what the hell... I'll throw in some shots of the hibiscus donut from way back when I first tried them at another location:

Here is what Matt Bruck said about this newest Dough's goodie :)
''No, they're not quite as cute & photogenic as the doughnuts & paletas for which she's famous - but the doughkas may be my friend @lanewyorkina's most inspiring creation. Inspired by babka, made with the classic @doughdoughnuts base, they're rolled, sliced, braided & baked - making them denser & more bread-like than the doughnuts. Filled with bittersweet Mexican chocolate, dusted with a cinnamon/sugar/chocolate mix, they're sticky & flaky & distinctive & wonderfully delicious''
