Buddy's Pizza was a quick choice as a place to eat at between me and my friends. I do not regret our decision to eat here, not at all. The pizza was very tasty and it was prepared really fast as well. This place is much better than the quick and cheaply made pizza places that are everywhere else. If in the area and in the mood for pizza, I recommend this place.
This place is a great place to get pizza and have a good meal. My girl and I will order a vegan one then pick it up, take it home, and chow down. The ingredients they use are very good and are some of the best around. I would for sure recommend Buddy's Pizza to anyone who is visiting the Detroit area!
Best place for pizza in the metro area
Buddy's has always been a favorite of mine growing up in the metro Detroit area. The product is consistently delicious. I love the deep dish and the variety of choices. I was so pleased to see that they offer both gluten free and vegan options- both of which are great. The only thing that Buddy's is lacking is a good dine in environment. They have a few tables and chairs but it seems to be mostly for people waiting for their takeout. Allover, this place is great. If you live in the area and haven't checked it out you're missing out big time.

I go to Buddy's about once a week. It's always being demanded by people at my home and I can't disagree with them, this place is special. The pizza menu is so extensive and has so many options. From whole grain crust, to vegan cheese options, to artichoke dip toppings and pine nuts...this place has something to offer ANYONE. Even their plain kids pizza has to be amazing, it's the only pizza my 8 year will eat. Besides the pizza, they still have a large menu, with options for veggie and meat lovers alike. I've never had a bad experience at Buddy's, I only held back a star because sometimes the pizza is a bit greasy, but nothing too bad for square pizza. The service is perfectly adequate, but sometimes seems a little busy. The decor is straight out of the movie 'Waiting', but it's not obnoxious.
You can't go wrong with Buddy's. Popular with local's, but disappointingly unknown to people outside the area. The prices here are really amazing for the quality of pizza you're getting, not to mention the amazing atmosphere of the restaurant itself.
Whether you're visiting from out of state or one of the surrounding areas, you need to check this place out.
Bocce and Pizza
The pizza is the same Buddy's Detroit style square pizza across all restaurants. It's good, for Buddy's. Their salads (family style) always come with enough banana peppers and olives to prevent someone from taking all the good stuff. The best part about this Buddy's is the Bocce court. It's outside, so closed in the winter, but a lot of fun in the summer, especially if you have a couple of beers first.
Can't beat Buddy's Pizza. Some of the best pizza I have ever had. Whether you're a local looking for a nice dinner, or a out-of-towner looking for some amazing pizza, Buddy's will never disappoint you. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and an amazing menu. I'd recommend the square pepperoni, it's to die for, but I've had numerous other items on the menu and they are all delicious.
Buddy's Pizza is located at 17125 Conant St in Detroit MI. Buddy’s pizza is very famous among Detroiters, and this location originally established in 1936 has a bunch of history around it. In 1946 they introduced there famous square pizza, and has been a Detroit Staple ever since. Buddy’s is a must try according to most reviewers whether it’s this location (the original) or any other. The pizza place is getting a 5 star rating mostly.
The menu for buddy’s is actually much more then pizza, but most Detroiters will tell you to try the Square pizza more than anything. It is cooked to perfection, and truly is a one of a kind. You can taste the freshness of all the ingredients, and will make you want to come back for more. The prices of everything are moderate, but well worth it for the quality.
The atmosphere of the place is cozy and comfy. It’s just has a good overall vibe due to everything going on from the customers, to the staff. The place is often crowded, but usually more busy for dinner.
Lastly, the staff does a good job, by being attentive and detail oriented. The speed of everything is pretty good, and worth the wait if it is longer. Finally, they don’t take reservations but do accept credit cards.
