Origin of the secret menu and How to try it:

Origin of the secret menu
While some restaurants have a premade secret menu, Starbucks is a little different.  The Starbucks Secret Menu is actually just a conglomeration of all the different flavor combinations people have come up with using the ingredients already available in the store. To order off of Starbucks Secret Menu, just tell your barista what you would like to add to your drink, and you will be presented with a totally custom blend that is all your own.  That is the tricky part.  You will need to know what goes in your drink, because there is no "secret menu" for the barista to follow, so be sure to have a recipe in hand.  Now, there are a lot of tried and true flavor combinations out there that are not on the menu, so lets break those down for you.

We have come up with some popular secret menu items and we will even tell you what you need to ask for when you see your barista.  All you need is this handy guide and you will be on your way to discovering Starbucks secret menu.  These are just a few of our favorite secret menu items, with recipes.  Do you have any secret menu items that you crave?

Size Matters:

Neapolitan Milkshake
The first thing you need to decide when you are starbucks is what size you will be wanting.  There are a variety of sizes available at Starbucks to suit your needs.  These are the popular sizes:  Tall 12oz., Grande 16 oz., Venti (hot) 20 oz., Venti (cold) 24 oz.  However they also offer the "Short" and the "Trenta".  The Starbucks "Short" is one of the options from the Starbucks Secret Menu where you can order a smaller, 8 oz. size of some of their drinks.  Not everyone needs a whopping cup of joe to get going in the morning, and this makes a perfect choice if you are one of those people.  Now, if you are one of those folks that needs all the caffeine you can get, opt for the Trenta.  The "Trenta" is 30 oz., and can be filled with Shaken iced tea, Shaken iced tea lemonade, Iced coffee and Starbucks Refreshers.  However, if you are following our secret menu recipe guides below, you will need to order a "Tall" to get the combination just right.
